Telfar Takes Brooklyn While Paris Watches From Afar

Telfar unleashed its Spring/Summer 2027 catwalk collection with a runway homecoming in Brooklyn — while a Paris audience watched the whole thing unfold by livestream.
The setup came with a little fashion-week misdirection. Guests gathered at a small theatre in Paris expecting Telfar Clemens’ first Paris Fashion Week show in seven years. Once the lights dropped, it became clear the actual runway was happening back in New York, with Brooklyn taking center stage and Paris watching from afar.

Brooklyn Was Always Going to Be the Main Character
For a label that has built so much of its identity around New York, the fake-out feels perfectly on brand. Rather than simply re-enter the Paris schedule on expected terms, Telfar turned the distance between the two cities into part of the presentation itself.

The collection itself arrives with the same refusal to stay neatly inside one fashion box. Telfar’s runway has long blurred distinctions between menswear and womenswear, polish and utility, spectacle and clothes meant to live in the real world. SS27 keeps that tension intact while giving the brand a full-scale runway platform again.

The bigger statement may be the staging itself. After seven years away from a Paris Fashion Week runway appearance, Clemens returned by technically not returning at all — letting Paris tune into Brooklyn instead. Very Telfar.
