Rihanna coyly shared just how much unreleased music she may be sitting on during a recent Fenty Beauty TikTok Shop livestream — and naturally, she answered the question with Fenty math.
While showing off the brand’s latest beauty drops and holiday offerings, RiRi was asked how much unreleased music she has tucked away. Her answer: “If there are 10 products in the Gloss Bomb Vault, then I have at least 17 vaults.”

Do the math and 17 vaults of 10 gets you to at least 170. But there is one important distinction: Rihanna did not literally announce that she has exactly 170 finished songs ready to go. She used the Gloss Bomb Vault as a playful comparison, which certainly suggests there is a whole lot of unreleased material sitting around — but it is not the same thing as a confirmed 170-song track count.

Of course, any mention of unreleased Rihanna music sends the conversation straight back to R9, the long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s ANTI. More than a decade later, she still has not announced a release date, tracklist or even a final title for album number nine.
That has not stopped Rihanna from occasionally feeding the public just enough information to keep hope alive. Earlier this year she said she had finally “cracked the code” on the direction of the record, and A$AP Rocky later let slip that she was back in the studio.
So no, this does not mean 170 songs are suddenly dropping tomorrow. But it does confirm one thing we already suspected: the vault is not empty. RiRi continues to playfully tease the public over whether any of it will finally see the light of day.
And the entire moment happened while Rihanna was technically there to sell beauty products. Very on brand.
