Disney+ shall stream both the 2027 Super Bowl and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2027, putting two of television’s biggest live-event traditions inside the streamer as Disney keeps stretching the service well beyond movies and series.

Head boss in charge, CEO Josh D’Amaro, has been quite clear about the ambition behind it all: Disney+ is supposed to become the company’s “digital centerpiece” — not just a place to press play on a film, but a portal connecting Disney stories, sports, experiences and more.

Super Bowl LXI Will Stream on Disney+ for the First Time

On February 14, 2027, Super Bowl LXI will stream on Disney+ in the United States alongside its traditional ESPN and ABC presentation. It will be ESPN’s first-ever Super Bowl production and ABC’s first Super Bowl telecast since 2006.

The game is set for SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the action alongside Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge. Disney also says the Spanish-language ESPN Deportes telecast will be available through Disney+, while international distribution will extend the game to more than 55 Disney+ markets outside the U.S.

Disney is not waiting until February to test that sports-meets-streaming lane, either. The company says two Monday Night Football games airing on ESPN and ABC this fall will also be made available to Disney+ subscribers ahead of the Super Bowl.

New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Is Joining Disney+ Too

Before kickoff ever arrives, Disney+ will ring in the year with another first. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2027 will simulcast live on Disney+ alongside ABC, marking the first time the long-running New Year’s franchise has streamed on the service at the same time as its broadcast airing.

Ryan Seacrest returns as host, with comedian and actor Druski announced as the Chicago co-host. The move folds another massive live-TV tradition directly into Disney+ and makes the company’s larger direction pretty obvious: the streamer is being built to hold far more than the library.

Or as D’Amaro puts it: a “digital centerpiece” of the company.

This makes thee Walt Disney Company legacy feel increasingly like one connected live-event machine — ESPN, ABC and Disney+ all feeding the same big cultural moments across broadcast and streaming. Only time will tell what else the House of Mouse decides to pull under that roof.
