Michele Morrone Takes the Long View in Vanity Fair Italia

Italian actor and model Michele Morrone goes “Volo alto” for Vanity Fair Italia, photographed by Nick Thompson for a feature that catches him somewhere between movie-star polish and stripped-back portraiture.
The accompanying interview, written by Federico Rocca and published in Vanity Fair Italia’s issue 33, traces Morrone’s road from the outskirts of Milan to Hollywood while the fashion story keeps things considerably quieter: strong tailoring, bare skin, soft knits and a Milan backdrop doing exactly what they need to do.

The wardrobe runs through names including Emporio Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, Brunello Cucinelli, Pal Zileri, Herno, Antik Batik and Tod’s, with Patek Philippe and Emanuele Bicocchi among the accessories credited by the magazine. The result is less about one hero look than the full Morrone spectrum: dressed-up, pared-down and somewhere comfortably in between.

Behind the photographs, Vanity Fair credits Gaia Fraschini for the fashion service, Vania Cesarato for make-up and hair using Dolce&Gabbana Beauty, and Nicola Giammaria Gobbetto for set design. It is a handsome, unfussy setup for someone whose image has rarely needed much extra decoration.
