Courrèges SS27 Celebrates Freedom and Individuality in Paris

Dig out Courrèges Spring/Summer 2027. The Paris house returns to one of its oldest obsessions — movement — but this time the message is especially simple: wear what makes you happy and stop feeling obliged to explain why you love it.
Presented during Paris Fashion Week, the SS27 collection frames personal style as its own kind of freedom. Rather than demanding one uniform idea of what modern dressing should look like, Courrèges leans into individuality, play and the pleasure of choosing for yourself.

The runway setting echoed that idea. Instead of one strict visual language, chairs sourced from different contemporary decades and contexts were brought together throughout the space, each carrying its own history while collectively shaping the show. Different objects, different eras, one room — a neat reflection of the collection’s insistence on singularity.

That makes the clothes feel less like a command and more like an invitation. Courrèges has always traded in forward motion, clean lines and a certain futuristic clarity, but SS27 gives that vocabulary a looser emotional center. The point is not simply to look modern. It is to wear the thing you want to wear because you want to wear it.

The result is a Courrèges collection that feels very aware of its own history without turning that history into a museum piece. Motion is still the through line. The difference is that SS27 makes room for the wearer to decide where that motion goes next.
For a house so closely associated with the future, that may be the most contemporary idea of all: you do not need to justify the things you love.
