INYIM favorite Fat Dog return with what may be their most radio-friendly track to date, “Heart of Darkness,” taken from the band’s second album Cancel Me (I’m Tired), out October 2, 2026 on Domino.
But don’t let the foot-tapping track trick you. Fat Dog have wrapped one of their most immediately melodic songs in a video that goes somewhere much stranger: a satirical Kim Jong Un lookalike takes center stage at karaoke with a beer in hand, turning the title into a very literal visual punchline.

“Heart of Darkness” Sits Right in the Middle of Fat Dog’s New Album
The track lands as song four on Cancel Me (I’m Tired), the follow-up to Fat Dog’s 2024 debut WOOF. Domino describes the new record as a ten-track collision of electro-pop, rave, rock, psychedelia and everything else the South London seven-piece feels like throwing into the room.
“Heart of Darkness” is the cleaner entry point of that chaos — still twitchy, still unmistakably Fat Dog, but with a hook that slips in fast. It is exactly the kind of track that makes you tap your foot first and ask what on earth you just watched second.
The Video Turns Karaoke Night Into a Very Fat Dog Joke
The visual, directed by Grain Freeze, centers on the Kim Jong Un-inspired character working the room like an unlikely karaoke regular. The absurdity is the point: the song stays catchy and almost breezy while the video keeps pulling the mood somewhere darker and more ridiculous.
It is a particularly Fat Dog way to package the song: give listeners something easy to grab onto musically, then make the visual impossible to mistake for anybody else’s.
Cancel Me (I’m Tired) arrives October 2 with ten tracks, including “Go Fuck Urself,” “Shit Love,” “Call It What You Want,” “Heart of Darkness” and the title track. If this is Fat Dog making a play for radio, naturally they have done it with karaoke, political satire and a video that refuses to behave itself.
