Wednesday Whimsy! One Roguish Cat Took the Sunroof Route
Meet Elisa Camacho, whose ordinary drive on Maple Valley Highway suddenly turned into one very feline plot twist. Camacho was traveling at about 50 mph in the Seattle metropolitan area on September 16 when her cat unexpectedly jumped through the open sunroof.
Camacho told Storyful she had previously unbuckled her pet during a Starbucks run for his first “pup cup.” While she was getting her maps loaded to go to lunch, the cat decided the roof was apparently the next destination.
The footage catches the moment he launches upward and disappears from Camacho’s view. At first, she thought he had simply jumped into the back of the car. Then came the realization: he was actually on the roof.

Camacho said everything happened so quickly that she initially could not believe the cat had really gone through the sunroof. Once she realized he was no longer inside the car, she pulled over and safely retrieved him from the roof.
Camacho later shared the clip to TikTok, where Storyful reported it had pulled in more than 15 million views and 1.4 million likes. Her caption summed up the little escape attempt perfectly: “Kitten said ‘see ya never!’”
