WHY IT MADE THE CUT
Thirty years later and this one still sneaks up on you. “Long Ago,” Mariah’s Daydream cut co-written with Jermaine Dupri and Manuel Seal, gets pulled back into the light through the album’s 30th-anniversary era. It is moodier than the giant singles surrounding it and exactly the kind of deep cut that makes revisiting a classic album worthwhile.

WHY IT MADE THE CUT
Still one of Daydream’s dreamiest corners. “Underneath the Stars” floats instead of shouts, giving Mariah room to luxuriate in the song rather than chase the obvious pop payoff. The 30th-anniversary edition puts the track back in focus again — complete with a new Eric Kupper Klassic Club Mix for anyone who needs a little more night in their starlight.

Now we leave the clouds and hit the floor. “Get Buck” comes from Hoffstadt’s 2026 album Das Ist Daddy, where his trance, techno, house and Eurodance instincts all get thrown into the same sweaty room. No long explanation needed here: it is built to move bodies, and it knows it.

Same Daddy, different kind of chaos. “Party People” opens Das Ist Daddy and folds a sample of Marshall Jefferson’s house cornerstone “Move Your Body” into Hoffstadt’s rave-minded world. Old-school house DNA meets a very 2026 Berlin-sized appetite for impact.

Leave it to Michael Bibi to turn a Nokia ringtone into a club record. “Mobile Groove” was sparked after his brother sent him a clip featuring those instantly familiar old-school phone sounds. Bibi turned the joke into a proper groove, and suddenly the Nokia 3310 has a nightlife career.

Tune: “Zone”
WHY IT MADE THE CUT
MK keeps it sleek while Poppy Baskcomb gives “Zone” its lift. Released in May, the track sits right in that polished space where house momentum and pop instinct meet without either side getting watered down. Clean, immediate and very easy to leave on repeat.
