The Face Is the Concept
There is a reason Waldner’s work can register so quickly in a frame. He has the kind of features fashion photography loves to exaggerate without needing to alter: strong lines, expressive angles and a look that can move between polished and severe almost instantly.
Humbert keeps the focus trained on that physicality. Rather than turning the shoot into an overly complicated fashion exercise, the photographs read as studies in face, posture and presence — which is where the sculpture comparison starts feeling less like a joke and more like the entire point.
