Sheryl Crow brings a ginormous classic back to morning television

Sheryl Crow is in full promo mode for her new 12th studio album, Pick You Up, out October 9, 2026.
And while the new era is rolling out, she is absolutely not leaving the ginormous classics behind.
Crow hit ABC’s Good Morning America Summer Concert Series and unleashed one of her signature songs, “If It Makes You Happy,” for the morning crowd — the kind of catalog flex that reminds you why a song from 1996 can still feel perfectly alive three decades later.

“If It Makes You Happy” still lands with full-force Sheryl Crow energy
Originally released in 1996, “If It Makes You Happy” became one of Crow’s defining records, reaching the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 and winning her the Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
On GMA, there is no need to overcomplicate the arrangement. The hook is enormous, Crow’s voice still carries that loose rock grit, and the performance works because everybody already knows exactly where the chorus is going.

The performance also arrives right as Pick You Up starts moving
The timing is no accident. Crow’s upcoming 12th studio album, Pick You Up, arrives digitally on October 9, with physical editions following later. The project includes seven new songs and continues her long-running creative partnership with Jeff Trott.
The first single, “Freedom Bus” featuring Jesse Welles, is already out, giving the campaign a brand-new song to push alongside the classics that made Crow a household name.

That balance — one giant hit, one brand-new era — is exactly what a television promo stop should look like. Give people the song they came for, then remind them there is something new waiting around the corner.
