Jonathan Anderson Gives Dior Men A Softer Kind Of Drama
The campaign belongs to Jonathan Anderson’s evolving vision for Dior Men, where familiar house codes are being mixed with eccentric details, lived-in texture and a slightly off-kilter sense of elegance.
O’Connor is a particularly clever fit for that world. He has the face of a romantic lead, the posture of someone who might rather be examining a ceramic bowl, and the rare ability to make formal clothes look as though he wandered into them by accident and improved them immediately.
Dior describes the campaign through contrasts: violin and delphiniums, knits and sequins, medallions and checks. Sims turns those pairings into images that feel less like conventional advertising and more like fragments from a very expensive memory.
The setting matters. By placing the clothes near water, flowers and open fields, the campaign loosens Dior menswear from the usual marble-room seriousness and lets the collection breathe.
David Sims Frames Dior Like A Half-Remembered Summer
Sims photographs the cast with a coolness that never tips into emotional vacancy. The tailoring remains precise, but the atmosphere is soft, slightly strange and almost pastoral.
That tension gives the campaign its pulse. These are clothes rooted in a major Paris house, yet the images avoid looking overly managed. O’Connor appears composed without becoming statuesque, elegant without looking polished into another person.
