Wile E. Coyote Survived The Shelf—Now ACME Has To Answer
Coyote vs. Acme has released its final trailer, and this is no ordinary cartoon courtroom squabble. After decades of being dropped, flattened, launched and blown apart by suspiciously unreliable products, Wile E. Coyote is finally going after the corporation that kept mailing catastrophe directly to his desert.
The live-action and animated comedy follows the unemployed genius as he uncovers what appears to be a corporate cover-up and joins forces with struggling billboard attorney Kevin Avery, played by Will Forte. Their target is ACME, the profit-hungry company behind every rocket skate, giant magnet and portable hole that somehow failed at exactly the wrong moment.

The Final Trailer Introduces A Full Underdog Legal Team
Forte’s Kevin Avery is not exactly entering the case from a position of power. He is an equally unlucky attorney whose office advertises from a billboard and whose new client communicates largely through signs, expressions and increasingly dangerous demonstrations of product failure.
Lana Condor joins the fight as Paige Avery, helping Kevin and Wile E. build a case against a multinational machine with far more money, influence and firepower. The trailer frames them as a collection of people—and one extraordinarily committed coyote—who have been underestimated for far too long.
On the opposing side is John Cena as slick ACME attorney Buddy Crane, defending the company with exactly the level of corporate confidence one would expect from people who have made a fortune selling dynamite to the same customer for decades.
The Looney Tunes Come To Court With Dynamite In Their Pockets
The case opens the door for a parade of familiar Looney Tunes faces. Foghorn Leghorn sits atop ACME’s corporate structure, while Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and the Road Runner all surface as the legal war expands beyond one coyote’s lifetime of terrible purchases.
Director Dave Green keeps the cartoons operating by their own laws inside the live-action world. Characters stretch, explode and recover while humans are forced to treat falling anvils, painted tunnels and ballistic hardware as evidence. It is courtroom procedure filtered through pure Looney Tunes logic.
The Movie’s Own Survival Makes The Underdog Story Hit Harder
The film’s arrival carries an extra layer of victory because Coyote vs. Acme nearly became another project audiences were never allowed to see. Warner Bros. Discovery shelved the completed movie in 2023, triggering widespread criticism from filmmakers, actors and fans.
Ketchup Entertainment later acquired the worldwide distribution rights, giving the movie the kind of improbable escape usually reserved for Wile E. himself. A story about an overlooked character challenging the corporation responsible for his suffering now reaches theaters after surviving a major corporation’s attempt to make it disappear.
That history gives the final trailer’s underdog language some genuine weight. This is not only Wile E. demanding accountability from ACME. It is a finished film finally reaching the audience that spent years asking to see it.
Coyote vs. Acme Opens In Theaters August 28
Coyote vs. Acme opens wide in theaters on August 28, 2026. The PG-rated comedy runs approximately one hour and 43 minutes and also features Tone Bell, P.J. Byrne, Eric Bauza and a deep bench of classic Looney Tunes characters.
The screenplay is by Samy Burch, with a story credited to Burch, James Gunn and Jeremy Slater. After years of cliff dives and corporate limbo, Wile E. Coyote is finally getting his day in court—and his day in theaters.
