Shania Came Ready To Defend Poutine And Proper Maple Syrup

“Let’s go, girls!” Shania Twain has entered Snack Wars, and this time the competition is less country-pop crossover and more Canada versus the United Kingdom with gravy, chocolate and a dangerous amount of cheese on the table.
The Canadian icon sits down with LADbible Entertainment to compare food from both sides of the Atlantic, sampling home-country favorites including BeaverTails and poutine against British contenders such as crumpets, Quality Street chocolates and cheesy chips.
Twain approaches the challenge with the confidence of someone who already knows where her loyalties live. She is a maple-syrup purist, considers poutine nearly impossible to defeat and has enough genuine history with humble comfort food to make the taste test feel like more than celebrity promo wrapped around a snack tray.

The episode moves quickly between sweet, savory and culturally specific comfort foods, but Twain’s reactions are most entertaining when a bite unlocks a memory. She talks about the food she grew up with and the simple meals that mattered long before stadium tours, diamond-selling albums and global superstardom entered the picture.
That background makes her defense of the Canadian entries feel personal. Twain was raised in Timmins, Ontario, in a family that often had to stretch what it had. She has previously spoken about growing up with porridge, potatoes, soups and hearty hamburger stew, so it makes sense that a dish built from fries, cheese curds and gravy would receive immediate emotional protection.

Then comes the maple syrup question, where there is no room for imitation behavior. Twain makes clear that the real thing matters, which is exactly the kind of border-defending energy this format requires. Somewhere, an anonymous bottle of pancake syrup quietly removed itself from consideration.
The British side still receives a fair hearing. Crumpets, chocolates and cheesy chips all get their moment, and Twain keeps the mood warm even when Canada appears to have home-field advantage inside her mouth. A perfectly timed joke about an allergy briefly sends the crew into panic before she lets them know they have not accidentally ended a five-time Grammy winner on camera.
The appearance arrives during another busy chapter for Twain. After joining Harry Styles for a 12-show run at London’s Wembley Stadium and returning to an intimate Toronto bar stage, she is preparing to release her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, on July 24.
The autobiographical project looks back toward her Ontario beginnings, making the food showdown especially well timed. The woman tasting childhood flavors in front of the camera is also revisiting the experiences, music and resilience that shaped her before the world learned to shout every word of “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” back at her.
Whether Britain manages to impress her enough to become “Still the One” is for viewers to judge. Canada, however, arrives with poutine and authentic maple syrup. That is not a snack battle. That is an ambush.
