Someone ring the alarm and hand me a fire extinguisher cause all of you beloved readers of mine know very well that when mister Alain Delon makes an appearance under our “Vintage Story” posts, i’m always sent into a trance thanks to this gentleman’s captivating eyes and dapper-dandy ways. Alain is shot by photographer Bert Stern in in the early 1960’s (’62 to be axact). Here once again, Delon showcases an elegant ensemble spruced up by a spontaneous looking pose.

Not only was he as sharp as a knife while in front of the lens, but he was also a fashion icon in his own right during the 60s and 70s. Always strutting a relaxed yet very polished look, Delon set the style for keeping everything small in detail while adding that much needed pizazz to an otherwise drab outfit. In other words, opting for small adjustments sometimes make a big difference.

He along with the likes of Serge Gainsbourg, Jim Morrison, Ryan Gosling, Lenny Kravitz, Julian Casablancas, etc; taught me that sometimes a small detail can spice up a very classic ensemble in a way that expresses your personality. This proves why Alain Delon is not only a French cinema icon, but a style icon as well. A timeless, elegant, impeccable, and versatile man perfect for any ensemble.
