The day was November 15, 1969, white rock and roll soul singer Janis Joplin was arrested while performing a show in Florida as she heckled police as they attempted to control the 3,500 person crowd with bullhorns. “Don’t fuck with those people” she was reported shouting.

As the singer left the stage she confronted a detective calling him ‘a son of a bitch’ and told him she would kick his face in. She was released on $504 bail for using vulgar and indecent language
