Fashionista.com takes a look at some recently released photos from an upcoming book on fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez and his very famous friends.
Antonio Lopez, the renowned fashion illustrator who died in 1987, is the subject of a new biography called The Antonio Lopez Book by Mauricio Padilha and Roger Padilha (Rizzoli), which will hit shelves this coming September. The authors have been posting glimpses of photos from the book on their Facebook page and they are nothing short of fascinating.
From Karl Lagerfeld–who ran a “sort of salon for models and fashion personalities” with Lopez (according to Lopez’s 1987 NYT obituary)–to 70s-fabulous pictures of Halston and Liza Minnelli, it’s a time capsule of a major moment in fashion. And check out that picture of a young Bill Cunningham, who was a dead ringer for Tommy Hilfiger.

We’re just sad that picture’s not in color, because Karl obviously gave up patterns and colors long ago.
