Deck the halls with NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert, starring the one‑of‑one band Sixpence None the Richer.

For the first time in over a decade, Leigh Nash and crew stepped back into NPR’s office space—string lights, paper snowflakes, and all—to deliver a holiday set that felt both nostalgic and brand‑new.

SET LIST:

  • The Last Christmas (a fresh original inspired by guitarist Matt Slocum’s first child)
  • It Came Upon a Midnight Clear (Leigh Nash cheekily called its angels “alien‑adjacent”)
  • Melody of You
  • Eternal Gifts
  • Kiss Me (their timeless 1997 hit, reimagined with seasonal shimmer)

The performance doubled as a showcase for their new holiday EP Eternal Gifts (2025, Squint Entertainment), which blends originals with reimagined carols. Critics praised the set as “nostalgic and technically brilliant,” especially Melody of You, which transported listeners back to their late‑’90s heyday.

And this wasn’t just a one‑off. Sixpence announced a European tour for 2026, their first major run since the early 2010s. With new material, a fresh EP, and touring plans, the band is proving they’re more than a ’90s alt‑pop memory—they’re back, balancing buoyant melodies with lyrics underpinned by awe and wonder.

Sixpence None the Richer’s Tiny Desk holiday set mixes nostalgia with fresh sparkle. Which track resonated? Drop it below.
