"Intimate interviews with Turner herself in her Zurich, Switzerland hometown, as well as Angela Bassett, Oprah Winfrey, journalist Kurt Loder, playwright Katori Hall and Turner's husband, Erwin Bach, will be featured in the doc alongside never-before-seen footage, audio tapes and personal photos.During her tenure under Ike & Tina Turner, she had notched 20 Hot 100 hits from 1960 to 1975. But she spawned five consecutive top 40 hits on the Hot 100, including "What's Love Got to Do With It," following the release of her fifth solo album Private Dancer in 1984. She has sold over 100 million records and earned eight Grammy Awards between 1962 and 2008, not to mention her three Grammy Hall of Fame awards and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.The feature documentary comes from Oscar-winning directors Dan Lindsay and T.J. After divorcing from her then-husband and the other half of the Ike & Tina Turner duo in 1978, the singer launched one of the greatest comebacks in music history and landed her first and only No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, "What's Love Got to Do With It," in 1984.The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is heard talking about the absence of her mother early on in the minute-long teaser video that was released on Tuesday (Feb. 23). "My mother, she used to sit in the window of the kitchen while she was making dinner on Sundays. I used to just watch her," she narrates while her 1971 hit "Proud Mary" softly plays in the background. "One day, she wasn't in that window. She was never in it again. I wanted her to come for me.
