En Vogue Rocked the Saturday Night Live Stage on March 21, 1992
En Vogue appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live during the Mary Stuart Masterson episode, which aired on March 21, 1992.
They performed two standout tracks from their soon-to-be-released album Funky Divas:
First up: “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)”
Followed by: “Free Your Mind” — a powerhouse performance that brought the house down.
This appearance came just days before the official release of Funky Divas on March 24, 1992. The album would go on to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and No. 8 on the Billboard 200, eventually reaching triple platinum status with over 3.5 million copies sold in the U.S. alone.
Their SNL performance helped launch what would become one of the most iconic R&B albums of the ’90s, blending soul, new jack swing, and even rock influences—especially evident in “Free Your Mind.”
