Originally from China, Wanze Song is a Toronto-based artist and designer whose work includes fashion design, styling, and creative direction. As a recent graduate from Ryerson University’s Fashion Design program, Song has been immersing herself in the creative sector by collaborating with local photographers, styling fashion editorials, and assisting with design and production at Beaufille.
Song’s design philosophy views clothing as a form of artistic expression, that gives the wearer the freedom to create their own originality, regardless of gender, sexuality, and race. For her 2016 graduate collection, Song experimented with gender fluid silhouettes and dynamic cuts to create statement seasonless pieces that can be worn all year round.
