Marilyn Monroe was born today on June 1, in 1926. Born Norma Jeane Baker, need I say much here?!!? It’s known that Marilyn spent most of her childhood in foster homes, and it wasn’t until she commenced a career in modeling that people started taking notice. Her modeling eventually garnered a film contract in 1946. And from there on, well kiddas, it’s like they say, THE REST IS HISTORY. Monroe stars in such classics as “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, “How to Marry a Millionaire”, “The Seven Year Itch”, and “Some Like It Hot.”
In ’99, Monroe was ranked as the sixth greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute. Monroe is icon in all sense of the word. Now lets celebrate the legacy she left behind!
