Comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish is giving back in a big way—covering $150 worth of groceries for victims of the Eaton Fire and anyone else in need. The Girls Trip star footed the bill at Super King Market in Altadena from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, drawing a crowd of over 500 people before doors even opened.

Haddish had teased the event on Instagram, writing: “If you need groceries, show up. No questions asked.” Word spread fast—via Facebook, Instagram, text messages, and FaceTime calls—turning the giveaway into a full-on community moment.

“I know what it feels like to be hungry,” Haddish said tearfully. “I know how hard it is to feed a family. This means so much to me—to be able to help people and put food in their refrigerators.”
Fresh music, bold entertainment, and men’s fashion—one tight email a week.

She wasn’t alone. Haddish called on her “rich friends” to help, including Leonardo DiCaprio, DL Hughley, Kevin Hart, and Tom Hanks. One standout supporter was Stephen Kovach, whom Haddish praised: “So many men have let me down in life. But one man’s always showing up for me—and that’s Stephen.”
The event also spotlighted California’s affordability crisis. Haddish didn’t hold back: “California is not affordable, livable, workable—and we’re showing everyone it’s real.”
Tiffany Haddish didn’t just show up—she showed out with heart, hustle, and humanity. In a moment when so many are still rebuilding, she reminded Altadena what real community looks like: no catch, just compassion and a cart full of groceries.
