The documentary originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, where it was met with acclaim. Helmed by Mexican-American director Isabel Castro, the film draws entirely from Selena’s family’s personal archive, offering an intimate and powerful lens into her legacy.
The project went on to win the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Archival Storytelling, a testament to its emotional depth and cultural significance.
