Want to learn to speak like Rosalía? Well, listen carefully, students, because Professor Rosalía is ready to show us her 10 favorite words in Catalan and Spanish.
Rosalía: “Hello, I’m Rosalía and here’s my dictionary with some words in Spanish and Catalan.”
Attention students, class has already begun! Let’s start.
Fresh music, bold entertainment, and men’s fashion—one tight email a week.
The first word is “tremenda.” You could say: “She is tremendous.” (Rosalía uses it often to describe bold energy—whether it’s a look, a beat, or a vibe.)

This playful mini-lesson is part of a new editorial feature from Condé Nast Spain, spotlighting Rosalía’s bilingual roots and signature slang. (The full clip dropped November 10, 2025, on Vogue España’s YouTube channel.)
The full list includes words like “xurri” (Catalan for “sweetheart”) and “jaleo” (Spanish for “commotion” or “party vibe”). Each one comes with a wink and a real-world example from Rosalía’s own lyrics or interviews.
This isn’t her first time schooling us—Rosalía previously broke down flamenco terms during her El Mal Querer press run, and she’s known for weaving regional dialects into global hits.
