Present-Day Developments: Homeowner Says Ongoing Bear Saga Has Hit a Breaking Point

(Updated & On Going) A frustrated Altadena homeowner says months of a bear living under his house have pushed him to the edge. He now plans to sue state wildlife officials after being denied further help.

Since November, a homeowner in Altadena has had a full‑grown bear living under his house. Now he says it’s pushed him to his breaking point.

In an exclusive interview with INYIMMedia affiliate KTLA’s Jillian Smukler, the owner revealed he plans to sue the California Department of Fish and Wildlife after being told the state will no longer help. (KTLA reports the bear has been returning to the property for weeks, creating safety concerns for the neighborhood.)

The homeowner says he’s exhausted every official channel and is now preparing legal action to force intervention. Local wildlife groups note that bear encounters in the San Gabriel foothills have increased over the past two years due to drought and food scarcity.

What do you make of this wild Altadena saga? Drop your thoughts below and tell us where you stand on the homeowner’s next move.
