Pop Princess Reignited: Willa Ford Returns Live at The Abbey with “Burn Burn”

Last night we we’re on-location covering new music release! Feelin’ the “BURN BURN” with the one & only, 2000s OG baddie, Willa Ford. #INYIMMediaNewMusic

It’s not just nostalgia—it’s a full-circle moment. Y2K alum and pop provocateur Willa Ford made her 20 some year triumphant return to the stage at The Abbey in West Hollywood, igniting the crowd with a fiery performance of her new single, Burn Burn. INYIM Media was front and center to witness the comeback of a woman who once dared to be bad—and still knows how to own it.

We remember the days rushing home from classes or day-to-day circadians just to vote for #WillaFords “I Wanna Be Bad” on TRL! That track wasn’t just a hit—it was a cultural reset.

The Abbey, a longtime haven for queer celebration and pop spectacle, pulsed with anticipation as Ford took the mic. She stunned in a sheer black bodysuit that exposed her slender physique under violet and fuchsia stage lights—an ensemble that fused sensuality with star power. The look featured sculpted mesh panels, revealing neckline, and high-cut legs, accentuating her signature confidence. It was a visual masterclass in pop comeback couture.

The crowd—packed with fans, influencers, rando bros looking for girls and fellow Y2K devotees—erupted as she launched into Burn Burn, a dance-pop scorcher that blends club-ready beats with emotional grit. It’s a track that doesn’t just mark her return—it reclaims her place.

Who Is Willa Ford? A Legacy of Boldness

Born Amanda Lee Williford in Ruskin, Florida, Willa Ford began her entertainment journey early, singing with the Tampa Bay Children’s Choir and performing with local arts troupes. By 18, she was signed to Atlantic Records under the name Mandah, later rebranded as Willa Ford to avoid confusion with Mandy Moore.

Her breakout came in 2001 with the unapologetically cheeky single “I Wanna Be Bad,” which peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 20 weeks on the chart. That same year, she released her debut album Willa Was Here, cementing her status as a pop provocateur unafraid to push boundaries. She opened for the Backstreet Boys, posed for Playboy, hosted reality TV, and even competed on Dancing with the Stars—a career defined by reinvention and risk.

After stepping back from music, Ford pivoted to acting and interior design, founding W Ford Interiors and appearing in films like Friday the 13th (2009). But music was never far from her heart—and now, she’s back.

The Burn Is Real

Burn Burn isn’t just a single—it’s a statement. Teased on her Instagram with the caption “Ready to launch ❤️‍🔥,” the track and its accompanying video dropped the same day, with fans taking in what we has been craving for so long. The song’s release was met with an outpouring of love from longtime fans, many of whom still spin deep cuts like Tender and Ooh Ooh on repeat.

From the Pantene Pro-V performance days to her latest Abbey appearance, Willa Ford has always been more than a pop star—she’s a cultural touchstone. And if Burn Burn is any indication, she’s just getting started.
