It’s baacckkk. The king of snakes returns. The official reboot of Anaconda is slithering into theaters December 25, 2025, starring none other than Paul Rudd and Jack Black. But unlike the 1997 original thriller led by Jennifer Lopez, this version takes a comedic reimagining that’s part action-adventure, part horror, and all-out absurdity.
The trailer is a total blowout—far-out, fast-paced, and freakishly funny. The film centers on a group of friends, including Black’s Doug and Rudd’s Griff, who head into the jungle to remake their favorite childhood movie. But when a real-life anaconda crashes their chaotic set, things get unexpectedly real.

Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) have been best friends since childhood, forever bonded by their obsession with the 1997 cult classic Anaconda. Now facing midlife crises, they decide to finally chase their dream: remaking their favorite movie. They head deep into the Amazon rainforest with a ragtag crew and a hilariously chaotic plan to shoot their own version. But when a real giant anaconda shows up, their passion project turns into a deadly survival mission. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed.
Also co-starring mega talents Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello, this reboot is directed by Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) and co-written with Kevin Etten.
