Apparently herself! Lesartsdecoratifs has canceled their Kate Moss exhibition. The “Kate Moss Myth” was supposed to go up this year, then it was postponed until next March, and now they’re doing away with it altogether.
Despite the fashion world’s love of all things Kate, the non profit museum’s had a hell of a time finding a corporate sponsor for the exhibition.
A spokeswoman told WWD that “Cultural patronage is not a priority for companies,” but given the wide range of companies Kate’s worked for, from Nikon to Chanel, Virgin Mobil to Dior and the heaps of money each and every one has made off of the supermodel, we’re surprised no one’s stepped up to attach their name to the exhibition.
Fresh music, bold entertainment, and men’s fashion—one tight email a week.
Would you kiddas agree and say that it’s to soon to host anything called the “Kate Moss Myth,” or take a look back at her ‘long’ career since she’s only 36. Fashionista wonders what exactly they’d even put on display. But than again, like Britt also states, “when a museum wants to present the entire contents of Kate’s closet in 20 years, bet that companies will fight for involvement.”
I say it really doesn’t matter the age or number of one’s career, but rather one should remember Kate’s been a thought-provoking and trendsetting figure in the fashion world for over 15 years now. I think this is a perfect example of quality vs quantity…i’m just saying.
