Marilyn Monroe famous pink satin dress she wore in the classic film “Gentleman Prefer Blondes”, has been sold for £213,000 reports Vogue.com in the UK.
“The size 14 gown in which Monroe sung ‘Diamond’s Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ beat its expected asking price of £170,000 in one of Hollywood’s largest auctions.
Other items sold included the Wicked Witch of the West hat worn by Margaret Hamilton in The Wizard of Oz, which reached £137, 420. The bottomless magic carpet bag worn by Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins was also sold, fetching £65, 274. Johnny Depp’s ferocious-looking hands from Edward Scissorhands went for £18, 885 and his Pirates of the Caribbean jacket for £12,367.”
