The British pop outfit leads the way on the U.K.’s Official Chart First Look
with “Sweet Melody,” the best-performing single in the first 48-hours of the
chart week.

Lifted from the girl group’s November 2020 album release Confetti, “Sweet Melody” lifts 9-1 on the chart blast and is on track to give them a
fifth U.K. No. 1 and first since 2016’s “Shout Out To My Ex.”

Little Mix has been in the news of late with the announcement of Jesy Nelson’s
departure, due to medical reasons.

“Sweet Melody” stood tall on the Official U.K. Singles Chart last Friday as
the only non-Christmas themed song in the Top 10. With the yuletide hits all
tumbling down the charts, this Friday’s (Jan. 8) survey should feature some
regular faces. Ed Sheeran’s “Afterglow” lifts 13-2 on the First Look survey, while Justin Bieber could snag the week’s highest new entry with “Anyone,” new at No. 12.

Nothing is set at stone. At this point in the chart week, according to the
OCC, less than 2,000 units separate the Top 5 singles.” – Billboard.com
