“Photographer Marc Medina was in charge to capture models Timi and Oscar wearing the latest collection from Spanish designer Victor Von Schwarz and the New Balance 850.
For this collection titled “El Fin” (the end), Victor was inspired by iconic movies such as Todd Solondz’s Welcome to the Dollhouse, and Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides, translating the beauty and fragility to the aesthetic of the clothes, on materials and designs.
To complement Victor Von Schwarz’s look for this story, the designer picked New Balance and its recent relaunched sneakers – New Balance 850. 24 years after that the first pair of this model saw the light, this emblematic shoe perfectly illustrates the last decade of the past millennium. The model that featured for the first time the acronym ‘NB’ sewn on the heel, gets a makeover saying goodbye to the traditional logo that had characterized the brand until then and welcomes the New Balance N. The shoe recovers the aesthetics of the ‘chunky sneakers’, the thick-soled shoes dyed with vibrant shades popularized in the decade of the Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls. Through the relaunch of this representative model, New Balance wants to pay tribute to a momentous era in its long and triumphant journey.
