Jim Carrey is a living one-of-one actor/comedian. One of the greatest to ever do it in the genre.
After 40 years in the industry, his legacy spans from the stellar 1985 cult-classic Halloween flick, “Once Bitten” (Psst—btw, that’s a purrrfect watch for this particular season!), to the 1990s sketch comedy revolution In Living Color, to the 2000s cinematic mind-bender Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. And of course, there’s his most recent feature with the pop culture video game dynasty, “Sonic the Hedgehog.”
Now, it may be time for a live-action version of the famed 1960s cartoon series, “The Jetsons.”
Mister Jim is in chit-chat to star in the project from Warner Bros. Pictures, with Colin Trevorrow helmed as director. Writers Trevorrow and Joe Epstein are penning the script.

It’s a no-brainer, since Jim is of that particular 1962 era. If you readers are unfamiliar—or just simply forgot—about the seminal animated program, here’s a quick refresher followed by a compilation video montage.
The Jetsons, which debuted as an animated comedy series on ABC in 1962, centered on a futuristic family comprised of George Jetson, wife Jane, their two kids, robot housekeeper Rosie, and dog Astro. The show was produced by the legendary animation studio Hanna-Barbera, known for shaping the golden age of Saturday morning cartoons.
Set in a utopian future of flying cars, moving sidewalks, and push-button conveniences, The Jetsons wasn’t just a whimsical escape—it was a prophetic glimpse into the tech-driven lifestyles we now take for granted. From video calls to smart appliances, the show’s vision of tomorrow still resonates today.
