Jack White Helps Restore House From The Outsiders

One of our preferred films growing up was “The Outsiders”! Apparently, it was the same for young rock legend Jack White. It’s no surprise that Mister White adores vintage art and preserving the past. So, this following story makes our hearts flutter. The Portland Press Herald reports, Jack’s helping to restore a house featured in the 1983 iconic film The Outsiders.

Few books in our coming of age heydays were adapted so exquisitely and truly translated impeccably onto the silver screen. Jack White’s management confirmed that he donated $30,000 to the effort to restore a house in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Featured in Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s 1967 classic, artist appreciator and American politician Danny O’Connor is reportedly leading a campaign to turn the house into a museum about the film itself. O’Connor says that White’s donation helped them meet a $75,000 fundraising goal for the project.
