The official trailer for the long-awaited ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ sequel has been unleashed.
Scope out the press release:
This time, her Julie James character utters “What are you waiting for?” with a quiet, seething frustration, compared to the primal scream she unleashed in the original 1997 movie.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, reprising her role as Julie James in the I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel, delivers her iconic “What are you waiting for?” line in the latest trailer from Sony that dropped on Tuesday.
But in director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s follow-up film that revives the slasher horror franchise, Love Hewitt says the line with quiet and seething frustration in a close-up shot.
That contrasts with the 1997 original movie of the same name when James stood in the middle of a road and, suddenly turning, delivered a primal scream to the unknown killer stalking them: “What are you waiting for, huh? What are you waiting for?” she yelled.
In the sequel that hits theaters on July 18, a now older Love Hewitt urges a group of five friends facing similarly dangerous consequences after their involvement in a tragic car accident to fight back against the hook-wielding killer pursuing them.
