Iggy Pop was born April 21, 1947. He is an American vocalist, musician, and songwriter. Iggy Pop is one thee original innovators of punk rock musique. Mister Pop started the name Iggy after his first band in high school formed, The Iguanas. Iggy Pop is one of the most eccentric and unique stage art performers in musique history.
Iggy Pop lead the rock group, The Stooges, in the late 60s/early 70s. The Stooges were infamous for their explosive live gigs, in which Iggy who almost always performed and still performs bare-chested while making the art of stage diving legendary. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Stooges were unsuccessfully nominated seven times. Finally they were inducted as part of the class of 2010.
