Conan O’Brien Shall Receive Mark Twain Prize For Lifetime Achievement In Comedy.
The master comedian and host is named the newest recipient of this honor.
It’s to no suprise since he’s carved out an undeniable decades long career. A resume that is incmparable and untouched. Sure he may have survived one of the most public failures in the history of television on the now infamous Tonight Show drama-rama. Only to launch a successful, and sustained, next act.
His travel series which we are ginormous fans of, “Conan O’Brien Must Go” sparkedcritical acclaim, with a second season coming this March of 2025. Conan shall also host the upcoming Academy Awards three weeks before his the Mark Twain ceremony in Washington.
Deborah Rutter, president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in a statement said the following: O’Brien “a master of invention and reinvention, consistently pushing the envelope in search of new comedic heights.”
O’Brien offered his own assessment, in the only way he can in a press release: “the first winner of the Mark Twain Prize recognized not for humor, but for my work as a riverboat pilot.”
He will be honored on March 23 in a special ceremony! We’ll of course be watching!
