Grammy-nominated soul stylist and electronic music wizard Jamie Lidell has returned with a stunning live performance of “The Center,” recorded at Turner Recital Hall on March 27, 2025. Featuring a rich ensemble of Blair School of Music students and faculty, the track marks Lidell’s first release in nine years and serves as the lead single from his upcoming album, Places of Unknowing.
This deeply personal project emerged during the pandemic, with Lidell stepping away from digital production to study piano under Blair faculty member Pascal Le Boeuf. The album also features contributions from percussionists Ji Hye Jung and Lee Vinson, flutist Molly Barth, and Nashville musicians Rob Burger and Ethan Jodziewicz, with lyrics inspired by Lidell’s wife, artist Lindsey Rome.
