The year was 1963 and the film being presented at that year’s Cannes Film Festival was director Luchino Visconti’s “Il Gattopardo”. The film starred Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale, and Alain Delon (Whooo my favorite!). Visconti’s brilliant piece, won the prestigious Palme d’Or award that year.

Above, is a yummy photograph with the man himself, Luchino Visconti, along with Claudia Cardinale, and Burt Lancaster, as they posed with an actual Gattopardo, which happens to mean leopard in Italian. This photo opt was a shot the trio took while traveling the coast of Cannes during the promotional bend of their winning film “Il Gattopardo”.
