INYIM Media Preferred Show Series: ‘Suits: L.A.’ Gets Premiere Date Via NBC Midseason Lineup.
"It’s been a little while since Suits was dominating the streaming charts, but NBC is banking on viewers being ready for more of the legal franchise.
The network has set a Feb. 23 premiere date for Suits: L.A., a show set in the same world as (but not a direct spinoff of) Suits. The drama starring Stephen Amell and Josh McDermitt is set at a Los Angeles firm that specializes in entertainment and criminal law.
NBC fast-tracked development of the show late last year, when Suits was in the midst of a record-setting streaming run. Suits: L.A. will be one of three dramas premiering in early 2025 on NBC; it will be joined by crime drama The Hunting Party — about a team of investigators tracking down notorious escapees from a secret prison — and Grosse Pointe Garden Society, about members of a garden club whose lives become intertwined with scandal and murder.
The Hunting Party is set to premiere Feb. 3, following the debut of the spring cycle of The Voice (Brilliant Minds will end its season in late January). Grosse Pointe Garden Society, from Good Girls EPs Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, will join Suits: L.A. on Feb. 23. Also that night, NBC will also launch its long-in-the-making natural history series The Americas, narrated by Tom Hanks.
NBC’s current weeknight lineups will all resume new episodes in January after a holiday break. As previously announced, a 50th anniversary special for Saturday Night Live is set for Feb. 16. The network’s midseason premiere dates are below; all times are ET/PT.
