NASA Djs Playing Missy Elliott’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” In Outer Space On Venus. The tune hit the public circa 1997. “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” instant new-classic feeling like it was actually beamed down from space itself.
Last week, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory spun from the agency’s Deep Space Network. It’s barely the 2nd song to be transmitted into the galaxy. The premiere unveiling came from the Beatles’ “Across The Universe” in 2008.
NASA Digital And Technology Division director Brittany Brown spilled in a press release stating, “Both space exploration and Missy Elliott’s art have been about pushing boundaries.
Missy has a track record of infusing space-centric storytelling and futuristic visuals in her music videos so the opportunity to collaborate on something out of this world is truly fitting.”
Missy actually made the decision of choosing planet Venus as the destination because it's her favorite planet, saying: “I chose Venus because it symbolizes strength, beauty, and empowerment and I am so humbled to have the opportunity to share my art and my message with the universe!”
Continuing to divulge: The temperature on Venus is too high for water to exist there, but it does rain on Venus. Google tells me that the planet’s rain is mostly made up of sulfur and carbon dioxide. You really wouldn’t be able to stand that rain."
This is a whimsy of a story and you care bears know how the thrill we get with these specfic types of entertainment news reporting!
