INYIM Media NEW Limited Series: Lady Of Rage Stars As Miss Cleo In Trailer For Lifetime Biopic (Out Aug. 10.)
"Robin Allen, better known by her rap moniker The Lady of Rage, is set to star in the forthcoming Lifetime biopic Miss Cleo: Her Rise and Fall.Directed by Tim Reid (Sister, Sister), the film will premiere on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m., and be followed by the documentary Call Me Miss Cleo at 10 p.m. Centered around the meteoric rise of Youree Dell Harris, who came to prominence as psychic Miss Cleo during the 1990s, Miss Cleo: Her Rise and Fall has a cast that includes Shane Johnson (Power) and Ian Bohen (Yellowstone).Other actors slated to appear in Miss Cleo: Her Rise and Fall include Daphne Maxwell Reid, Cocoa Brown, Dwayne Boyd, Towanda Braxton, Jaida Standberry, Marley Taylor, Amelia Young, Stevie Baggs Jr., and Leslie Black.Call Me Miss Cleo was directed by Celia Aniskovich and Jennifer Brea and produced by Gunpowder & Sky for HBO Max. Van Toffler, Floris Bauer, Barry Barclay, Anne Loder, Jennifer O’Connell, and Lizzie Fox serve as executive producers of the documentary, which will include insights from various celebrities and those close to Harris, who came under fire after the Psychic Readers Network was accused of fraud and false advertising, among other questionable practices.“Miss Cleo ultimately became the face of the Psychic Readers Network, earning the trust and loyalty for those that called her,” reads a press release in promotion of the biopic. “Years later, Harris’ world was turned upside down with complaints that the Psychic Readers Network was fraudulent and spread false advertising. Facing angry fans, Harris was forced to defend her reputation to clear her name and escape financial devastation.”Harris, whose story has been told before in the 2014 documentary Hotline, was said to have earned the Psychic Readers Network as much as $24 million a month, a figure she herself has refuted as false.
