Caribou Is Baaaccckkk! With Spellbinding Single, “Broke My Heart.”

Mister Caribou aka Daphni aka Dan Snaith’s has been churning out musique for the last two decades. The genre bending, avant garde alternative sound maker first fresh Caribou tune in years.

“Broke My Heart” is a salt and peppering of hsi other more dance floor ready clubby alter ego, Daphni (which we adore!) The single is an tense yet eargasmic UK garage backbeat. It contains a songbired unknown who sings one of most favorite songs of all-time Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner.” Produced, and written by Dan himself. “Broke Me Heart,” was also mixed with friend, artist Four Tet.

The following is what Caribou spilled about the tentative project:

"I always find it hard to believe those “it came to me in a dream” stories about songs arriving fully formed… but this one was pretty close to that, which is not how it usually goes for me. I sat down at a piano one day, and the string riff was just there at my fingertips, and the vocal melody followed right behind it. I wish they all happened like that."
