It's Not You It's Me Covers LA PRIEST at The Echo!

From the beautifully eccentric with purpose, it's Sam Eastgate's project LA PRIEST!

Formerly known for his influential late 00's band Late of the Pier, LA Priest is an auditory rock journey that does not stray away from the dancefloor.

We had the privilege to cover LA Priest's Los Angeles show on Tuesday, December 5th, which also marked his final tour date for the new album Fase Luna (released May 5, 2023, on Domino Records).

Fase Luna marks the 3rd album from the experimental indie rocker which pulls its influence from being recorded in the natural environment of Mexico and Costa Rica.

Showcasing his talent, Sam Eastgate performed with only guitar in hand, mixing box, and his quirk for banter for a receptive Echo Park crowd. Sam literally became one with the crowd as he meandered in and out from the stage to the floor which we say was much needed after we've been away from one another during the last COVID years.

Although Fase Luna's sound is much more subdued and calmly restrained than the two previous LA Priest albums, performed live it still kept your attention (as all great art should) with its musical tangents. We must also mention we were very impressed by Sam's falsettos which we'd love to hear more of on any day of the week.

We had a stellar time, and it was a stellar performance from LA PRIEST on a rare warm Tuesday December night in LA, which may have been conjured by the sounds of Fase Luna.
