INYIM Media Back To The Future: Actress/Scientist Hedy Lamarr, The Mother of Wi-Fi.
"While perhaps most famously remembered as the beautiful Golden Age film star appearing in classics such as Samson and Delilah and Ziegfeld Girl, many of us recognize Hedy Lamarr as an accomplished inventor, too. And for a woman in her day and age, some might say she was, um, a-Hedy of her time.Back during WWII, Hedy learned about radio-controlled torpedoes and how enemies could possibly jam their guidance systems, setting them off course. During a discussion with friend and composer/pianist George Antheil, they came up with a method to prevent a torpedo's guidance system from being tracked or jammed by using frequency-hopping technology. Professor Samuel Stuart Mackeown was then brought in to bring the idea to life, and soon after, Hedy hired LA legal firm Lyon & Lyon to help apply for the patent. It was granted on this day (August 11) in 1942, some say paving the way for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile phones as we know them today - eventually granting us the magical ability to send pictures of our tits and junky bits from the palm of our hand to anyone across the globe in an instant! And for that, we sluts thank you Hedy much, Ms. Lamarr!" - peckerwoodmanor.blogspot.com
