INYIM Media Back To The Future: NEW ‘Goosebumps’ Film Trailer Brings The Scary To Disney+ Based On Our 90s Novel Obsession Via R.L. Stine's.

"Disney has unveiled a trailer for Goosebumps, its spin on the beloved series of scary novels for kids by R.L. Stine.

The trailer offers a few jump scares and some frightful moments, along with Travis Scott’s song “Goosebumps” as a soundtrack, as it introduces five high schoolers (played by Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig and Will Price) who “embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle — while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past,” per the show’s logline.

The series also stars Justin Long — who becomes possessed by a dark entity around the 40-second mark of the trailer — and Rachael Harris. Goosebumps will stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting, appropriately enough, on Friday, Oct. 13, with five episodes. The first two will also air on Disney’s cable channel Freeform as part of its 31 Days of Halloween programming.

The Disney+/Hulu series is the second TV adaptation of Goosebumps; the first was an anthology series that aired from 1995-98. The novels also were the basis for a pair of feature films in 2015 and 2018 that starred Jack Black as a fictionalized version of Stine.

The new series draws elements from five of Stine’s most popular Goosebumps stories: Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms! and Night of the Living Dummy.

Disney Branded Television and Sony Pictures Television produce Goosebumps. Nicholas Stoller (The Muppets, Neighbors) and Rob Letterman, who directed the first Goosebumps movie, developed the show and executive produce with Hilary Winston, Neal H. Moritz, Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Erin O’Malley and Kevin Murphy.
