2023 Rock Hall of Fame To Livestream Induction Ceremony For The First Time On Disney+ W/ Performers Elton John, Missy Elliott, Sherly Crow & More.

"The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be streamed live on Disney+ from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on November 3, and an edited version will broadcast on January 1, 2024, on ABC. This follows several years where HBO was the home of the ceremony.

The Hall of Fame also announced that Class of 2023 inductees Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan, and Willie Nelson will personally appear at the event. They’ll be joined by special guests Brandi Carlile, Dave Matthews, Elton John, H.E.R., Chris Stapleton, St. Vincent, and New Edition

There was no mention of the role that inductees Henry Fambrough of the Spinners, Al Kooper, Bernie Taupin, DJ Kool Herc, Kate Bush, and Rage Against The Machine will play at the ceremony. Kate Bush experienced a major career resurgence in 2022 thanks to the heavy usage of her 1985 classic “Running Up That Hill” on the fourth season of Stranger Things, which sent it flying up the Billboard Hot 100. But she hasn’t performed in public since a 2014 residency at the Eventim Apollo in London, England, and has dealt with stage freight her entire life.

“I have to admit I’m completely shocked at the news of being inducted into the Hall of Fame! It’s something I just never thought would happen,” she said in a statement when news hit of her induction. “Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. It means a great deal that you would think of me. It’s such a huge honor.”

Rage Against the Machine reunited for a world tour in 2022, but it was called off after a mere 19 shows because frontman Zack de la Rocha ruptured his Achilles tendon on the second night of the tour. He hasn’t been seen in public since the final concert. When pressed by Rolling Stone in March to give an update on the band’s future, guitarist Tom Morello was evasive. “Rage Against the Machine is like the ring in Lord of the Rings,” he said. “It drives men mad. It drives journalists mad. It drives record-industry people mad. They want it. They want the thing, and they’re driven mad. If there are Rage shows, if there are not Rage shows, you’ll hear from the band.”

At the very least, Morello said he planned to represent the band. “I will definitely be there,” he said. “Beyond that, we haven’t discussed that.”

George Michael, Link Wray, Don Cornelius, and several members of the Spinners are being inducted posthumously this year. It’s quite likely they’ll be honored alongside Tina Turner, David Crosby, Jeff Beck, and other inductees who died since the 2022 ceremony." - Yahoo.com
