Fantasia Barrino and Danielle Brooks have landed the lead roles in the upcoming movie musical The Color Purple. Both talents have starred in the musical on Broadway. Reprising their roles as Celie and Sofia for the silver screen.
Fantasia is sure to dazzle and mesmerize with her performance. Fantasia said about the role in a oublic statement: “The color of my skin. When I was younger, my lips were always bigger, the biggest thing on my body. I remember being on Idol and having to come up with this whole thing and I said, ‘My lips are big, but my talent is bigger.’ I had started accepting who I was at that age, but when I was younger, it was things that I dealt with, just feeling beautiful, wanting a certain kind of love. So we relate in a lot of ways.”
