A tribute to early 90’s euro-pop up-tempo dance music. It features percussion and harmonies from fellow artist/collaborator Emmanuel Santana, a growing star of the Puerto Rica (plena scene which is folk narrative sonics).

It's Rita Indiana first album in 10 years entitled, “Mandinga Times,” produced by Eduardo Cabra (Calle 13).

What she describes as merengue, electro-boogie, and elements of rock and punk. The latest reincarnation of the alter-ego Indiana has entitled “La Montra.”

La Montra is an image told as by Rita herself as: “Used to demonize everything that has to do with blackness in Latin America. Mandinga is this wacky demon that likes tropical music, and it comes at the end of the world to be present for what’s going to happen and maybe play another gig before the end of the world,” she adds.

The imagery she surrounds herself with is part of her prolific creativity. Indiana has produced six novels and three volumes of short stories. She started in music in the late 2000s, learning to build rhythms and teaching herself how to construct it.

She stated in a press release: "Warning that time is running out, not only for unjust economic systems and racial inequality but for Mother Earth herself. It has to do with the hyper-productivity of making things that are garbage and make us garbage,” said Rita.
