Dig Out 2021 Golden Globe Nominations!
"The nominations for the 78th annual Golden Globes were announced by past winners Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson on Wednesday morning (Feb. 3).Among the early leaders in nominations are the films Mank, Nomadland, The Father and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, including a posthumous honor for the late Chadwick Boseman in the latter.Kate Hudson was also nominated for her lead acting role in Sia's upcoming directorial debut, Music, and Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were honored for their scoring work on Pixar's Soul (with Jon Batiste) and the black and white David Fincher drama Mank.In television, Ozark, The Crown, The Queen's Gambit and Ratched earned multiple nominations, as did Disney+'s Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian.Last year's Globes took place before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the entire nation, with this year's event scheduled to unspool in a very different environment, with the majority of nominated movies premiering on streaming services or video-on-demand at a time when most movie theaters were closed due to the pandemic. In a nod to the ongoing lockdown, the show will be bicoastal for the first time in history with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler splitting duties from their respective home bases. Fey will be in New York at the Rainbow Room and Poehler will post up inside the Beverly Hilton. Nominees are slated to appear from various locations around the world. The telecast will air live coast-to-coast on Feb. 28 from 8-11 p.m. EST on NBC.__________________________________________________________________________________Best Motion Picture -- DramaThe FatherMankNomadlandPromising Young WomanThe Trial of the Chicago 7Best Motion Picture -- Musical or ComedyBorat Subsequent MoviefilmHamiltonMusicPalm SpringsThe PromBest Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture -- DramaRiz Ahmed, Sound of MetalChadwick Boseman, Ma Rainey's Black BottomAnthony Hopkins, The FatherGary Oldman, MankTahar Rahim, The MauritanianBest Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -- DramaViola Davis, Ma Rainey's Black BottomAndra Day, The United States Vs.
