"Empress Of has announced her next album. I’m Your Empress Of arrives April 3 via Terrible. Ahead of the LP, she’s shared lead single “Give Me Another Chance” along with a dance-heavy music video directed by Alexis Goméz. Check it out below and scroll down for the album art and tracklist.
“After writing three albums, no process has been the same,” Empress Of said of the new LP in a press release. She added:
This record wasn’t written in a remote location. It wasn’t written in a collaborative effort. It was written in my small studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles over two months in between touring the world. Music is magic. Something that possesses me, shows me things about myself that aren’t easy to see. It’s called I’m Your Empress Of because I’ve always felt that once a song is done, and the emotion is there and it’s not inside me anymore, it belongs to the world.
Empress Of wrote and produced the entirety of the LP save for the tracks “U Give It Up” and “Hold Me Like Water,” which were produced by Jim E-Stack and Mikey Freedom Hart, respectively. BJ Burton executive produced I’m Your Empress Of, which marks Empress Of’s third studio album, following 2018’s Us.

In our recent interview, Kash Doll said one of the most important things to remember as a rapper is to “keep your morals and dignity in this game.” Thankfully, she knows there’s a difference between having a sense of humor and staying strictly serious. That’s why the same artist who put out the emotionally vulnerable and incisive Stacked is behind a tongue-in-cheek single like this one.
“Wake Up” opens with the iconic, standoffish, confrontational quips of Kash Doll’s popular TikTok clip.
From there, she launches into rapped verses about being woke, wealthy, and at the top of her game — all evidence of what you can accomplish if you wake up early. The whole thing plays out over the constant clicking of a bomb counter ticking. Stream it below.
Next month, Kash Doll will kick off her upcoming “Dollhouse Tour” across the US. Come springtime, she will make a pitstop in Detroit for a live performance at Movement: Electronic Music Festival. Grab tickets to all of her upcoming concerts here." - consequenceofsound.net
